Not the best entryway into philosophy, Camus references (and thereby assumes the reader has knowledge of) multiple other philosophers and books, including Dostoevsky’s Kirilov, Nietzche, Don Quixote, Kafka, among others in order to support his claims about the meaning of life and craft his philosophy of absurdism.
This essay took quite a long time for me to read, and my comprehension was minimal, but yet it was quite intriguing, so overall I will say that at minimum the ideas are basic enough to grasp shallowly, yet deep enough to revisit after a prolonged period of time, which I intend to do after accumulating more experience with Camus’ absurd heroes.
One must imagine Sisyphus happy. 😌
