very interesting plot, and extremely complex characters that definitely developed a lot throughout the book - i adore black’s writing and world building and she definitely kept me guessing what was going to happen the whole time. i did find wrens character quite lacking of a personality until the end, and i wish we saw a bit more of a build up of tension between her and oak so that we could understand their feelings for each other more, however i think that this was a great first book and i’m sure the next one will be even better
