I read this book in two days and I haven't been able to start another one. I'm stuck processing all the f*cked up stuff I just read. This book covers many horrible and dark topics, but it is so necessary in the current world we live in.
The way Marcos describes how the world slowly accepted and normalized  cannabalism is horrible. But, it is eerily simi ar to how quickly our society had normalized the genocide and suffering of people and countries they deem "lesser than".

At the end of it all I am left with intricate and heavy feelings about not only the book, but how it connects to our current society. I cannot help but connect how the
humans used for meat are treated and experimented on
with how homeless people are left for dead on the streets, people are thrown in jail for no reason, and of course how the rich control and terrorize poor people who they don't even view as human.

Even though this book left me feeling very messed up, I know it was a necessary read and forced me to look at the ugly side of humanity and just how far people are willing to go.

I hope to one day be able to read this book in its original language of Spanish so I can truly appreciate the cultural context, tone, and word choices I'm sure are lost in translation.
