Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.

Life is too short, and there are too many other books to read. Couldn't keep reading through the out of place tone shifts, inconsistent characterization, and missing scenes that seemed like they would be more interesting than the scenes included in the book. I liked the premise, but not the execution.
