The PR for season 3 of the TV show finally pushed me into the series. Because I am insufferable I wanted to read the books before diving into the show. I liked the first half of this book a huge amount, but it really fell off in the second half for me.

I understand it is an (incorrect) period piece, but woof some of these behaviors were rough to get through.

Overall I managed three of the books before giving up and watching the show and honestly the show is exceptionally better.
