This is my first novel by Katherine Center. I recognize that I am not always a romance reader but occasionally I try to read them to cleanse my palette if I read too many heavy novels back to back. I went into this one blind and for the most part, I’m lowkey glad this wasn’t a novel that needed to rely on heavy sexual content. This is a closed door / off page romance book. So I was ok with that. What I wasn’t ok with was the slightly annoying oh Hannah is so short and Jack is massive! A woman that is 5’5” is not small. Can we get rid of that nonsense? Also, I didn’t trust Hannah as a bodyguard. There was a lot of telling but not a lot of proof showing Hannah using her bodyguard skills in the book. The dialogue was cute at times but didn’t feel like full fledged adults. Plus why tf is Hannah sleeping on the floor and Jack just allowing that ?! There is a bed for a reason. Also, Jack leaving his clothes all over and him thinking Hannah getting mad over that is not cute. Women are not maids. I should probably read Katherine’s older novels but this was a miss for me :/
