This Is Where I Leave You
by Jonathan Tropper
I've loved this movie for a long time for its sardonic dialogue and it's gritty depiction of grief and life's messiness. Imagine my surprise when I (finally) picked up the book and discovered that a good chunk of the dialogue is faithful to the text!

This book is packed full of earnest and effed-up characters trying to make sense of the senseless as they deal with their rapidly compounding baggage. It's good for a laugh and a cry--sometimes in the span of a few pages--and will leave you wanting more each time you put it down.
