Blood Over Bright Haven
by M.L. Wang
Maybe this is a case of a book being hyped up so much that it could never live up to its expectations. I did enjoy it, but it felt like it spent too long explaining things for the overall length of the book. The main character seemed to be able to change her world view way too quickly for someone who was deep in it, and im still not sure how her grand plan at the end really solved anything. This book felt so heavy handed in addressing the themes and characters. I prefer a bit of nuance and morally Grey chatacters. It was OK, but it was not my favorite book of the year or in my top 10.
