Overall stronger than the first volume, and Sana Takeda's art deserves all the stars. As do the cats. The cats are the best.
My only quibble is the speed at which plot relevant world history unfolds; there were several times I wanted to stop and check for a wiki. Is there a Monstress wiki? If not, there should be, because the world building is that complex and Professor's Tam Tam's interludes only seem to touch on a small portion of it.
Good thing #3 is coming out this year!
