Korede has always been there to dispose of the bodies for her sister Ayoola. Her sister seems to get into a lot of relationships with men that suddenly turn violent, which forces her to clean up the mess.
Korede is slightly torn about this arrangement, she doesn't really believe that her sister is protecting herself, but its her sister.

Ayoola is beautiful and loveable, making men fall for her instantly. When Ayoola shows interest in Korede's boss Korede is suddenly concerned about what her sister does.

The book was compelling to read, but the main character was frustrating. It should have been clear what her sister was doing, but Korede chose to ignore the obvious to protect her sister. Ayoola for her part seemed to only really care about Korede. The care could have been because of family loyalty or because Korede always cleaned up her problems, but she did seem to care.
