Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

2.0

I think the best thing about this book is how human Pip sounded. He would be your ordinary guy out there waiting for his dreams to happen. He was also that guy over there, thinking about the certain events of his life that changed him. In short, he is just like everyone of us. I have read this book with the help of Spark Notes and I have gained a better understanding and appreciation of the novel. However, I still felt like it moved slowly. It could've been shorter in my opinion. I am not going to deny, Dickens is a good writer. I enjoyed this better than the other classics I have read so far, but I have yet to grow an attachment to it. I will try again in the next ten years or so.
