Symphony of Secrets by Brendan Slocumb
4.0

This audio book is 14h and it took a good third of it for me to really feel pulled in on this slow burn mystery of sorts. The topic is interesting and both the older and current time story lines are interesting going back and forth. Maybe this is just me but I felt like Frederic was a well written and developed character and we understood him well due to his interactions however I was left wanting more in regards to the Josephine character. She obviously had synesthesia and maybe Asperger’s but this was never directly addressed. Didn’t need to be however I felt like she went from being a pushover to then quickly not and it didn’t seem believable to me. I felt like a confidant or friend in the story for her to help with development and understanding would’ve enhanced the experience of knowing Josephine much more. Basically super slow in the beginning to way too fast and sped up near the end of the book.
