Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus:
Yes
Notes:
- This wasn't that bad of a book tbh and I had forgotten how fun and exciting fast-paced fantasy book scenes can be — but there were just a lot of writing things that irked me.
- We need to decide who the target audience is! Reads like YA but is meant to be adult fiction is frustrating to read.
- Repetitive narrative phrases (eg. Feyre's "human incompetence", scenery is described through how much she wants to paint it, telling us Tamlin's in trouble).
- Maybe some elements of the story need to be told better in the writing? Amarantha didn't seem like an overly convincing villain andI would like a bit more definition on Rhysand's nuanced love/hate feelings towards Feyre (why is he helping her if he hates her??) as well as on Feyre's character motivations in going after Tamlin Under the Mountain. Is she capable as a human that we as the readers can root for or does she want him back so badly she'd risk it all? Pls decide.
- Pick-me-girl MC syndrome is strong in this one. We get it! You're """"just an incompetent, lowly human"""""""!
