DNF at 83% - I don’t even know where to begin with this one. After reading a shifter rh that left me with the *worst* book hangover I decided to go out on a limb and read the (highly recommended) PLM series. The story is complex, all over the place, and is quite possibly the slowest burning series I’ve read to date. Quite frankly the only reason I read this far into the series was because I was hoping to FINALLY relish in some Arion time. But even that scene was disappointing, and I realized that I was probably better off rereading the series I just finished rather than have to sit through another chapter of this book. While some clearly liked it, what have made the book, and series, all the more better for me would have been the following:

1. More world building. This is huge, as I had such a hard time visualizing anything, even the men. We should not be having this problem 4 books in, and that’s with me even having gone back and re-read the introductions a few times to just make sure I wasn’t crazy.
2. Less talking more showing. Seriously, way too much of this series is dialogue without any substance. The guys are always giving the MC non-answers and that does me nothing as the reader, who is just in the dark as our MC is. So many times I had to go back because “WHO” is talking right now was the only thing on my mind.

Overall extremely disappointing. In the end maybe this authors writing style just isn’t for me.
