yeah THIS is the grishaverse!!! this book is a sprawling mess of high fantasy histrionics and chaos. a little too slow at some parts, a little too convoluted at others, but GOD IT WAS FUN!!!! i would die for nina zenik

chapter 20 was - a lot. I understand how david's death raised the emotional stakes of the story in a few necessary ways, but I still found it to be a little gratituitous, especially from genya's perspective. The 'hair - colour, texture. smile - causes and effects' note killed me dead. i miss him.
