tswenny 's review for:
She Is Not Invisible
by Marcus Sedgwick
Laureth is on the hunt to find her father who is somewhere in America as far as she knows. She runs away from home in England with her little brother to hopefully find their father. The only problem is that Laureth is blind. Her being blind leads to unwarranted judgement from others throughout the entire novel. Before Laureth's father left, he taught her about coincidence and reoccurring patters. She has to use these skills and her senses along with the help of her brother and some others to find her father.
I liked this book because some of the patterns and concepts were unique to other books I have read. I liked the idea of recurring patters being involved in everything as well as the concept of coincidence. Until reading this novel I had never thought about these concepts in depth and the book covered them in an interesting way. I also like the Sedgwick's writing style, the pace was fast and the descriptions were interesting because Laureth was blind and couldn't describe through sight.
