The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

4.0

I kid you not when i tell you that this book has personally attacked me. I would've been one of those people who will get swayed by Lord Henry's pretty words. If I were Dorian, I wouldn't have it any other way. I just know it.

So... who's going to paint my picture and make my dreams come true? I'll handle the selling the soul part.

I knew it from the start that this book and I are going to have a grand time together. A few pages in and I've already decided that I was going to annotate the crap out of it. An instant favorite.

If only Philosphy is discussed this way in school, then maybe more people would be more enthusiastic about it. I enjoyed learning about hedonism and aestheticism in this book. I recommend for this to be read with a study guide so you can develop a deeper appreciation for it. There's so much that needs to be explained and Oscar Wilde's own soul has to be understood so you can see the beauty of all the things that he writes about.

Best to read when you don't know much about it. Just trust the millions of people who have read it. Definitely deserves its place as a classic.

Dive head first.

I honestly did not think that I would enjoy this book. I'd say this is one of the easier classics to read. The pacing, the writing, the unique plot... all of it is just perfection.

Why didn't it get a 5-star rating? Towards the end I felt my attention span dwindling and I just want for it to be over. But nevertheless, it was still one hell of a ride.

Don't wanna make this long. JUST. READ. IT.
