I think I'd have really enjoyed this book if I was a different person. Some of it is genuinely good writing advice, and I have the caveat of not being a screenwriter, but I found some of the other advice and tidbits frustrating to read. The author is very specific about certain things which I don't see a need for, and the sense of humor in the book is very much for a specific brand of man. I think it's worth reading for some of the advice, and a beginner writer might get a lot more out of this than I did - particularly around structure and characterization, but I was expecting a little bit more after hearing some rave reviews about it.
