Never Too Far by Abbi Glines

4.0

Like everyone else, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book and find out what happens between Rush and Blaire. When the book was finally released everyone was going crazy and ranting about how perfect this book was so when I finally got my own copy I was super excited. And while I did really like this book, for some reason I felt let down a little.

Maybe I'm mean but I didn't feel bad for Blaire at all. Yes, Rush kept a secret from you but it wasn't really his secret to tell and he was honestly going to tell her. I don't know what's wrong with me because when I read the first book I was all for feeling bad for Blaire and wanting to kill Rush but from the first chapter I just feel annoyed with Blaire. She acts so damn innocent, which in some ways I suppose she still is, but it just annoyed me.I guess I just didn't want to be a part of her pity party. I don't want to spoil anything but when a certain something happens involving her she kept it a secret from Rush and yet she still wants to act like she's doesn't understand where he was coming from. And that secret? I kind of wish the author didn't go that route. They are SO not ready for that and it felt like she did it just to add more drama to the story.

Rush, I loved. Which I found surprising because in the first book I didn't much care for him. But he's done a complete one eighty in this book. He's sweet, attentive, and willing to do anything to get Blaire to forgive him. He did mess up a few times but it was Blaire's need to blow shit out of proportions that made it more then it needed to be.

I've heard people say that they feel like Abbi Glines books are all similar but until now I never felt that way. It's not that I saw her other books in this book or anything like that but...I don't know. I think it's her writing style. It's starting to feel repetitive. I still love Abbi Glines books and I'll be reading her other books but I seem to have lost that fever everyone else has about her books.

I realize now as I'm writing this that I'm not really saying many things about this book. But I really did like the book. It kept my attention, I loved the supporting characters and it had me swooning at times. The ending was kind of abrupt but I've heard there is an epilogue posted somewhere so you'll have to check that out after you finish the book and apparently there's going to be another book for Rush and Blaire which is great, I guess. I can't wait to read Woods and Grant's story. Woods is a really good guy and was really there for Blaire in this book. As for Grant, everyone is freaking out because they're scared Nan is going to be his love interest. I'm not sure what's going on between them, is it purely sister/brother feelings or if there is more going on but I won't be surprised if she does make her his love interest. Despite the fact that Nan is a spoiled brat, I do see some redeeming qualities in her and I could see Abbi trying to make her more likable.

If you're a fan of Abbi Glines books and loved the first book then I'm sure you'll enjoy this book. If you're one of the few who haven't read this series yet then I recommend checking it out.
