Good pacing, and reasonably written. The facts of the case, of both the murders central to the novel and of the novella within it, are evident. 

Still,
this, and the previous installment, has gay representation equivalent to Hannibal Lecter, so take that as you will. Also, every (all 2 of them) gay person dies. Are they well rounded? One of them is.
