If you listen to the Sawbones podcast, this is very much just that but in book form. The biggest downside for me is that this book touches on so many topics that it is unable to go as indepth as the podcast does.
The highlight of the book is definitely the illustrations by Teylor Smirl. For Sawbones listeners, their artwork is perhaps the main reason to buy this book.
For people that have never listened to Sawbones, this book serves as a good intro to the series. There is a lot of interesting history included, and there are a lot of good jokes.
Moderate: Animal death, Body horror, Blood, Drug use, Excrement, Medical content, and Medical trauma
