There are only two books which have ever fundamentally changed my world view and challenged me to approach life from a completely different perspective. This and Staring at the Sun, also by Irvin Yalom. As a therapist, I look up to Yalom and he influences so much of what I do. As a human, he’s shaped me in ways that I didn’t know a complete stranger could. I didn’t know much about Marilyn and her extraordinary life before this book but I’ve come away with another role model.
