The beginning hooked me. Then the first time the POV switched away from Laing, it lost me a bit and never grabbed me back. The Wilder chapters were a slog to read, which is bad when he's the most action oriented character and the only person with any sort of goal. By the end I wish we had been following somebody who stayed on the lower floors instead of these three guys in the upper/top. The brief looks at what the bottom floors were going through were more interesting and horrifying than reading Wilder overpowering everybody around him and getting his way over and over again.
