Dark Archives: A Librarian's Investigation Into the Science and History of Books Bound in Human Skin by Megan Rosenbloom

4.25

A very sensitive approach to books bound in human skin: both touching the ethical problems of the existence of said books and demystifying it. The author talks about famous anthropodermic books, the process of making them, and is also taking us on the journey of finding and testing books that are though of being made with human skin.  We feel the respect of the author for the books, but also the academic setting she is in.

My favourite part was the epilogue about the author's time spent with doctors.
