3.5 stars rounded to 4. This is yet another Mortony book- a historical mystery investigated by the present day descendants, in the shadow of a grand house. Though the plot is a bit repetitive, Morton has the gift of providing an immersive experience with her words. You get emotionally connected to the characters,and Morton draws them beautifully giving them great depth. The pace is a bit slow but the experience is fulfilling.
