From Ashes by Molly McAdams
5.0
This was a great read! It had many great characters and a very intriguing plot that always held my interest!
The story starts with Cassidy Jameson who leaves California with her best friend Tyler, and together they head to his college in Texas. These two are so close that many mistake their friendship for something more. For Cassidy, her deceased father and Tyler are the only two people she has placed all her faith and trust in. Because of this Cassidy depends on Tyler to always be there for her and to be her sole support system. Right when they arrive in Texas Cassidy is introduced to attractive Gage Carson, who is also Tyler's cousin. From the first meeting both Cassidy and Gage were immediately intrigued by one another, and felt a connection. Gage views Cassidy as the most beautiful girl he has ever laid eyes on. She may be shy but she is also kind. She is also very handy in the kitchen and wise, however Gage can see the pain she tries to hide behind her smile. For Cassidy, Gage is the best looking guy she's ever seen. He is a family man with a kind heart, what more could a girl want? Neither of these characters understand the connection between them and at times aren't sure what is going on. Gage has never felt this strongly for a girl before nor has he felt the desire to love and protect one as much as he does for Cassidy. Cassidy has a hard time letting people in and giving them her trust, however she cannot deny the pull she feels towards Gage. Because of Tyler who is an annoying character, these two love birds take awhile before they finally realize their own feelings. Ultimately annoying Tyler does some pretty dumb stuff that leads Cassidy back into the arms of Gage.
From Ashes has a little bit of everything, which is why I enjoyed it so much! This book was emotional, hot, exciting, and fun! When you begin this book you quickly become immersed with the plot and the characters, so much so that you can't put the book down. Overall, I thought this was a great read and I highly recommend it! As always, thanks for reading this review. Much Love!
