Destination Anywhere by Sara Barnard

I did not expect this book to be this good and it totally blew my mind. I connected with the book because I saw myself in Peyton. Her desperation for friends that led her to bad ones and the fact that friends are not something you look for but more something you stumble upon especially the good ones.Like her I always found myself wishing for a best friend that you read about in books or a squad of friends to rely on, and connecting with Peyton allowed me to find understanding as well. Good friends are not the ones you force a friendship with , they happen by chance and in the most beautiful ways. It was sad to be that I could understand when Peyton read friendship books to prepare herself, when she changed herself for people to like her or did things she didn't want to to be liked. I saw how wrong it was. I hope one day I will have that but until then I will be content to be alone and discover who I am in the process. Another thing I learned is that to be alone is not a bad thing. Society will tell you it is and that if you are alone there is a reason but sometimes there is not. Not all the time you will find friends where you are and it does not mean something is wrong with you. There is a whole world out there waiting for you, people to meet and places to see. Where you are is not where you will always be.
Lots to learn from this book and highly recommend.
