I was so excited to start this book, just because of the history alone surrounding this story. I’ve always heard the story about the woman that murdered her children because she did not want them to have to grow up in slavery and I was very intrigued.

While this is a classic and I know they can be sometimes hard to read/follow, I feel that this book was a little unorganized. Even with the audiobook to help, it was hard to follow what was going on in a lot of sections of this book. Hard to keep track of which characters point of view was being discussed.

I have read other Toni Morrison books and they didn’t seem as hard to read and follow along with.

Overall, this was a good book but I feel I would have enjoyed it more if the book had a more structured flow.

Paul D coming back around to help Sethe in the end was touching. I’m glad he seemingly now has a place to settle.
