I’ve never wished I could read Spanish more in my life. I read the translated version, which still was very good, but I wish more than anything I could read the original.
The novel reads like a very long short story to me in the pacing and narration style. What makes it most interesting is the almost storyteller quality to how it’s written. Picture someone describing this to you beside a campfire or pulling you along almost as if they’re retelling an ancient legend - the whole vibe and understanding changes.
I devoured (pun intended) this book in just a few hours because I couldn’t help myself, but I’d challenge someone to really let it sink in and take their time. I think it would only add to the effect.
Really enjoyed this one!
