A definition of existentialism

I don't often like books that ruminate on the meaning--or meaninglessness--of life. This book, though, doesn't ruminate. The narrator with her reliable voice guides us through life, and it's sometimes sad, sometimes sweet, often poignant, but it never tries too hard. At the end, I wasn't left worrying what would become of me when I become old and frail. Instead, my belief in the worthwhile nature of life--of existence--was renewed.
