Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts One and Two by John Tiffany

3.0

I really liked the ideas behind this book. It was very easy to read because of the format and I finished quickly. I will however say the format made the book very choppy. I felt like I was missing so much from the story. I wish I could have learned more about Albus’ time at school and how it affected him. We only got very brief glimpses in to that.
I also feel the book was very derivative of the series itself and that it felt like a play at nostalgia. There really wasn’t anything as far as new ideas. Just old ones being used in different ways. It almost felt like fan fiction rather than an extension of the actual series.
I would love to get the story written in JK Rowling’s traditional style and made longer. I think she is brilliant and has a gift with words.
