The Collected Poems of Oscar Wilde by Oscar Wilde

3.75

A beautiful collection of poetry that explores love, nature, grief, loss and politics. Some of them are very dense with certain references that might be confusing unless you're super knowledgeable with the specific context. My favorite poems are "The Sphinx," "The Ballad of Reading Gaol," "Flowers of Gold (Impressions: Les Silhouettes & La Fuite de la Lune)," "Hélas!," "Wind Flowers: Impressions du Matin," "The Grave of Shelley," and "Désespoir." His strongest poems in my opinion are ones where he reminisces and celebrates nature, and where he's clearly inspired by art and Impressionist movements. Some of his more long-winded ones are a miss though.
