Madeline Miller has done it again with a spin on the myth written by Ovid that pushes against the repulsive idea of women existing only for men. In her words, "For millennia there have been men who react with horror and disgust to women's independence, men who desire women yet hate them, and who take refuge in fantasies of purity and control". I love her and I love Galatea.
