Bad Blood by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

4.0

Kind of like all the other books in this series, it was fast paced and entertaining, but nothing incredibly memorable. Like I think I'll think about it again, but it's not gonna be like my roman empire or anything. I really liked how I felt more of the found family aspect in this book and saw how much everyone cared for each other. On that note though, I kinda wish we had gotten more of dean and Cassie, because this whole book it kinda felt like she was pushing him away and then at the end they were just fine. Like I low-key liked when it was sort of the cheesy love triangle thing even though I knew she would choose Dean.
As for the mystery? (Idk what to call it) I really liked it but I didn't really like how almost 100 pages were spent on the whole Celine thing and back stories were uncovered just for them to not be super important. Like it's the last book in the series so adding a whole new Natural kinda felt unnecessary and like it was only there because she could help solve the case. I really liked the cultish aspect of this case though, but it got really dark in the end and I kinda didn't like how Cassie stabbed her mother literally like 2 seconds before the FBI showed up. Like I know it was supposed to be tragic and all but like girlies couldn't wait 5 more seconds??? Like the whole reason Cassie joined the program was to find her mom, just for Cassie to end up killing her. I like how the book left off though, hinting at what's next for the naturals, but still giving enough finality for a satisfying end to a series.
