I wouldn’t say this was a fun book. It was exciting and nerve racking. And also a bit sad.
I’ll admit that at times I felt myself smiling at the antics of a few characters. One in particular reminded me of Nicholai from the Grishaverse. These were young people so sometimes the snark crept up in the midst of the seriousness.
But now that I am done, I’m feeling a little unsettled. I know what the author was doing with these books but I wanted just a wee bit more. It’s such an open ended series. But I’m very happy I finally read them.
