The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan

5.0

What did I think? Well, I thought that this book was the perfect sequel to "The Hidden Oracle" and I read it just as quickly. I loved the changes that Apollo / Lester went though in this novel. I know that he had been through quite a bit, but I was very pleased to see him taking more and more concern for the mortals around him.

I loved how Leo and Calypso are his companions throughout the book. I really do like them as characters (though I think that I am going to have to reread the Heroes of Olympus once again because my memory is a little hazy after a year and reading all the books within the span of two weeks). I loved how they found themselves at the Waystation, and I loved the characters that they met there.

I really liked the "New Hercules" character, and while he proved to be quite the villain, I am glad that he was semi-somewhat defeated by the end. I am glad that Meg broke free of her "Step-Dad" and while I am sure that she is going to have to face him sooner or later, I hope that she has the strength to reject his particular brand of parenting :/

Then there is the Ojimbe / Jamie character that was introduced. I'm not entirely sure if Riordan is going to be delving into African Mythology next, or whether someone in his imprint is, but I found that character fascinating and I would love to learn more about him.

Finally the ending... the ending! I am so glad at the character who came out at the end. I have missed him dearly (won't say who in case of spoilers) and I can't wait to read what will happen next. Spring 2018 is SUCH a long way away!
