Our Malady: Lessons in Liberty from a Hospital Diary by Timothy Snyder
3.0
Unexpectedly eloquent this is a five star pamphlet for the intended audience, but the experience was only above average for a jaundiced janitor with existential impairment.
Snyder nearly died from an undiagnosed condition just before the pandemic. His ordeal delineated many of the failures of the American health care system. He may have had Covid then but of course there wasn’t available testing. He kept a diary during his hospitalization and such engendered this book.
Going to give this to a friend’s daughter, she’s a nurse who was put at risk by the systematic shortcomings.
