A lot of the drama is driven by something that I really relate to: no one believes you cause the truth is inconvenient. As you go through the book, you may get frustrated that some characters are denying the truth of the situation. I definitely related with Patricia a lot, and the ending was bittersweet.
You deserved better, Slick.
