Tropes: Grumpy/Sunshine, Small Town, Blue Collar

I LOVED Crank by Adriana Locke. This was my second successful Grumpy/Sunshine read, after one really bad one that made me doubt whether this trope was for me or not. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this book.

I loved the characters. Walker was handsome, broody, wounded, sweet, and caring, while Sienna was feisty, selfless, passionate, and loyal. I believe Adriana Locke did a wonderful job giving these character opposite personalities that weren’t extreme and unrealistic but also worked well together in a relationship-setting. Honestly, I loved the development that these two characters went through. Yeah, it was a little cheesy sometimes, but what’s a romance book without a little cheese, am I right?🧀

The plot also wasn’t entirely predictable for me. I guessed the general ballpark for why Walker had so much emotional baggage, and I knew it would all come to light, but Adriana Locke was still able to successfully keep me on my toes the whole time.

Additionally, I loved the roles of Machlan, Lance, and Peck. You just can’t help but fall in love with them. It really made me look forward to reading their individual stories later in the series.

I am beyond thrilled to read the remaining books from The Gibson Boys series over the next few months. I 100% recommend this book to readers that love a Small Town, Grumpy/Sunshine book. I would definitely re-read this book again in the future.
