The Great Paper Caper by Oliver Jeffers

5.0

Bear learns an important lesson about not taking things that don't belong to you, and respecting community spaces, and the other animals demonstrate fairness and compassion towards their friend.

This was so funny and sweet I can't stand it. Visual humour was strong, and the illustrations invite readers to linger and point out things going in in the background. There's something to talk about in each image, and the text is endearing and humorous. I always like Oliver Jeffers' work, but sometimes it's a little too cutesy for me - this maintained a good balance.

I also love lumberjack chic, and bears, so basically this book was a huge win for me.
