The Wandering Earth by Cixin Liu

4.0

Liu Cixin never dissapoints. This tight, image-laden story is so visual. It certainly trumps the overwrought, inane film that was supposedly based on this novella. If you've seen the film, I'm sorry you did and this story is a million times more interesting. Mankind in the balance, existential questioning all seem to be part of the formula where Cixin is involved. His stories are never maudlin, don't pander, and never are solved ex machina.
