Of Mates & Magic
by Maggie Francis
Cora is a witch but she tries to keep her powers locked down despite her hometown of Eliza Falls being less than normal. Everything is going great until Seb and his brother move to town. There’s an immediate (and… growly?) connection between them. Will they ever face their truths and find their way to love? Let’s find out!
Read if you like: Adult paranormal romance, small town romance, Spicy spice, magical small towns, contemporary fantasy, dual POV, fast-paced novella, fated mates, witches and werewolves, creative and cute banter, low stakes, slice of life, grumpy/introvert, awesome side characters, connected stories series, an awkward couple finding each other.
Eliza Falls is cute and quirky. Tourists come for the views and the supernatural vibes that are more real than they might expect. Cora and Desi have their dream store. Life is good. Except Seb has been intensely staring at her for a year. Weird. And he’s super-hot. Yay! She can’t possibly like this weirdo? Maybe, yes. And now he’s standing in her shop. What’s a witch to do?
Seb, and his brother Tate, moved to Eliza Falls to help out with their Aunt Jett. They love the small town with supernatural vibes and scenic forests. It helps a lot when their wolves need to run. Its hard to be a werewolf these days. They’re blending in just fine until Seb meets Cora and his wolf only wants one thing… to claim her as his Mate.
This book is the cutest thing ever! I love paranormal. I love small town romances. Who knew that I needed a magical, small town, low stakes, ADORABLE romance series. Maggie Francis that’s who. This book gives me all the warm and fuzzy vibes with a slow burn inferno that turns into some spicy deliciousness. I want to live in this down and go to their shop and the bakery and stroll through the forest. The book was super fast-paced and some descriptions were repetitious and cumbersome. Their ::ahem:: romantic talk was a bit silly, but they are super awkward so it fit. The ending was brief. But nothing could distract from this charming story and its warm, gooey center.
Thank you to BookSirens and Maggie Francis for a copy of this book for review.
