The Star Wars Trilogy
by James Kahn, Alan Dean Foster, Donald F. Glut
It's been a long time since I've read the Star Wars novels, but I think I can remember them accurately enough to put in my two cents here - these books are fun. Despite the first novel being written by Lucas, the prose can feel professional; the editing, while not perfect, as there is a lot of strange and unnecessary stuff, was well-done in terms of professionalism. The latter two novels feel better overall, as they were novelizations rather than straight up novels, and this works to their benefit.
