Happy Place by Emily Henry

OH, NOT AT ALL HAPPY.

Days after I read this book, my body's reflex is still to stare at the wall for seconds? Minutes? Hours? I don't know, I lose track of time.

Now, I do understand this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but oh. my. god. This book was written for me.

I've had the worst reading slump of my life but after a few chapters with this book and I just knew it was over. I devoured this book...but well, it devoured me much the same.

Harriet and Wyn are very complicated characters. They can even be unlikeable most of the time, but they felt real. Well, for me they did. They do questionable things but well I ask myself what I would do in the same situation, and I can't deny the possibility that I may do the same. After all, we're all the same unstable, anxious, terrified human beings. Good for you if you're not.

As someone who ruins every good thing in her life, I just felt this pain on a very personal level.

I also loved the fact that the storyline didn't feel so planned. It's inconsistent, maybe, but I liked the fact that I didn't know what's gonna happen until the very last part of the book. This book could have gone in a very different direction and it may have hurt like a biatch, but I would understand why it would've ended like that. Not complaining about the ending, though! Oh... If life could be that simple...
