NOOO this was such a disappointment! This book - with its gruesome cover and it's catchy title - also boasted some of my favourite themes in horror: family and identity. Unfortunately, this book did not go far beyond its initial idea. The characters lacked the depth to carry an emotional or character-focused narrative. The result is an accidentally plot-based novel, except because it isn't meant to be a plot-based novels, events unfold too quickly and too obviously.
