The House of Special Purpose by John Boyne
2.0
Not a patch on 'Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas' or 'The Absolutist'. Georgy is an arrogant, selfish character of huge naivety who, Forest Gump like, turns up at major moments in Russian history. Credibility seems not to be important in this novel.
It's also very slow moving and spends a huge amount of time in Georgy and Zoya's domestic arrangements. No doubt as a contrast point after the reveal (which is not really a surprise) It's a bit overdone, though.
