If you've ever thought of reading The Lovely Bones, DON'T. Read this instead.
This was a profoundly beautiful and inspiring read that was still light-hearted and entirely enjoyable. This is everything that I wanted The Lovely Bones to be and everything it wasn't.
I didn't give it a full five star rating, because I still felt a bit off about the subject. I just think reading about the "after-life" and death for extended periods of time makes me uncomfortable. While some readers may enjoy that, it's not something I particularly look for in my reading.
Gabrielle Zevin is incredibly talented, and I can't wait to read more of her work in the new year.
