I think I went in with expectations set too high because so many people had strongly recommended this book to me. But I found the structure of the book (say a single thing about your family, relate it to your past and/or the general past, wax poetic about it for a bit) repetitive. Not my favorite book, but there were elements I enjoyed, like the specific details that added joy and depth to the story.
