It's a DNF for me. I got about halfway through until I just couldn't take it anymore. The characters are all described interestingly but they feel hollow. I could not connect to anyone at any point thus far. The story so far was also a miss for me. They walk through a lot of fantastic places but again...I don't know what to do with them. It was just, 'Oh, we have to find that guy, and then that guy, and then that guy' while everything looked cool and eerie around them.
The writing on the other hand is fantastic. Whimsical and just so different from your normal writer. I can see how people like this book, but I was just plain bored the whole time. The writing does not save it for me.
