The Stranger Upstairs
by Lisa M. Matlin
I am between like and love on this. I loved it until it got to the end. The ending was very strange, which is fine, but it felt rushed and so weird. But it was very thrilling in the scare factor.
It was a bit slow at the start, but then it picked up and it was so good I didn't want to put it down. But there was a sudden change in the book. I did not see a lot of this coming and it can definitely be contributed to the unreliable narrator. The way it was told you felt like you were also descending into madness. And while the ending definitely changes my disappointment on how I thought it was going to end it was so open ended and I wanted more and more answers, so it gave me ambivalent, complicated feelings.
